The baby kangaroo joey! Oh my heart, the cute! But watch her or she’ll eat all the radishes in the vegetable garden. We open up three Sylvanian Families / Calico Critters sets – the Kangaroo Family, the Vegetable Garden Set, and the Ornate Garden Table and Chairs so that they have somewhere to sit after a hard day of tending their vegetable garden. There’s even a squishy garden hose to water all the fresh crops. Plant strawberries, carrots, lettuces, cauliflower and pumpkin for the Critters’ dinners!

The joy of harvesting your vegetable crop makes all the hard work planting, tending and watering the vegetable garden, worthwhile! Set includes vegetable patch, hose pipe, rake and a variery of vegetables.
Mother, Sandy takes care of the family’s home. She likes to keep busy cleaning until the house is sparkling clean. She also loves to bake cookies and pies. She is a member of several clubs including gymnastics and tennis. Baby girl, Katie loves to take a lot of naps and listen to lullabies.

Some Chicago-area vets are proving nature truly is good for the soul. They’re benefiting from a unique program inside a botanic garden where tending to a plant also helps them tend to the lingering wounds of war. Adriana Diaz reports.

Ron Finley plants vegetable gardens in South Central LA — in abandoned lots, traffic medians, along the curbs. Why? For fun, for defiance, for beauty and to offer some alternative to fast food in a community where “the drive-thrus are killing more people than the drive-bys.”

Shykh Seraj is the proponent of the concept of roof gardening back in the 80s on the television media. It has now become so popular that urban and semi-urban citizens of the country are now striving to make the best out of it.

By turning a rooftop into productive growing space we combat the issues of climate change while providing fresh food. Rooftop farms come in two main forms: open-air and greenhouse – each with its own unique advantages.

Roof farms benefit the community in many ways.

A roof farm can lower the temperature of roofs and the surrounding air…

CO2 & Air Quality…

By reducing a building’s energy usage roof farms can reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, city-produced food can decrease the energy required for transporting food to eaters, and add carbon breathing plants to the city landscape.

Increase access to fresh, healthy food…

Roof farming increases urban density by making use of a previously unused space. By adding green space in an urban area, we can increase biodiversity and provide habitat for a diversity of insects and birds.
